Dorothy Porter

age 80, went peacefully to sleep in the Lord after an extended illness. She was a lifelong resident of Alabaster. She was much beloved by many friends and family. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Walton (Roxanne), Harold (Mac) and Ricky (Linda) Davenport and her sister, Faye (Tim) Ross, her daughter, Carol Johnson and grandson, Brandon Johnson. She is survived by a daughter, Donna Sue Fitzgerald (Tom), a son, Mark Randall Johnson, and two grandchildren, Lindsey and Jamie Fitzgerald, 3 brothers, Leonard Davenport (Gail), Larry Davenport, and Jim Davenport (Betty), 2 sisters, Reba Henson (Troy), and Pat Bolin (Charles). The family will receive friends Thursday, November 17, 2011, from 12-2 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home. The service will be at 2 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
