Doris Davis

Doris Faye Davis  (Salser), 91, a resident of Vincent, AL, passed away September 25, 2022 at her home in Vincent, AL. She was born July 19, 1931 in Shelby, AL to William and Jessie Bell Salser.

Doris was a matriarch to a very large family, a devout Christian, and life long member of Berney Points Baptist Church,  She was a valued asset of the JCPenney Corporation for many years. She was also the co-owner of Davis roofing in Birmingham Alabama, She was an avid Gardener, an excellent cook, and had a true love for animals, She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt to a host of nieces and nephews, and loved by many friends. She lived a long, and happy fulfilling life, and will be missed dearly by everyone.

Doris is survived by her children Deborah (Ray) Cleveland, Gary Allen. Ray, and Sharon (Ray) Lambert, her grandchildren Kevin Lee Ellis, Jesslyn Marie (Ray) Neaves, Ronald Lee Davis Jr, Steven Ray, Joseph Allen Ray,  Angel Michelle Jones, Gina Kay Ray, Frankie B. Carpenter, Mika Carpenter, Justin Davis, Amber Davis, Lara  Ray,  Alyssa Ray, James Ray, David Ray, and great-grandchildren, Nathan Allen Ray, Caleb Mason Neaves, Alexis Nicole Ray, Ethan Allen Ray, Sierra Neaves, Bailey Neaves, Bella Ray, Lily Ann, Noah Ellis, Dalton Ellis, Shea Ray, Grace Ray, Adion Ray, Danniel Ray, her daughter-in-law, Francis Lavon Ray. Son-in-laws, Kyle Cleveland, and Burt Lambert.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Jessie Bell Salser, her husband William C. Davis, her sons Terry Ray, and Ronald Lee Davis Sr, her siblings, sisters, Emma Lee Warner, Agnes J Harper, Francis E Harper, and brothers, James T Harper, William A Salser Jr. Bert E. Salser, and Kenneth D Salser.

A visitation and funeral service will be held at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home & Jefferson Memorial Gardens - 2701 John Hawkins Pkwy, Hoover, AL 35244, on Monday, October 3, 2022 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm with a funeral service commencing at 2:00 pm.
