Donna Rogers

age 39, of Alabaster, AL, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 30, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on December 1, 1969 in Birmingham, AL to Gene and Faye Scott. She graduated from Fultondale High School in 1987 and University of Montevallo in 1990. Donna was a loving wife and mother. For the past six years, she faithfully served as the Director of Preschool and Children at First Baptist Church of Alabaster. She is survived by her husband of 13 years, Lee Rogers; two daughters, Emilee, 12, and Ally, 8 of Alabaster, AL; her parents, Faye and Gene Scott of Calera, AL; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Patsy Rogers of Talladega, AL; two brothers, Danny Scott (Jennifer) of Pelham, AL and Darin Scott (Tammy) of Thorsby, AL; a sister-in-law, Martiel Comer (Greg) of Fort Valley, GA; a niece, Elizabeth Scott; and four nephews, Brandon Blankenship, Cody Scott, Nathan Scott, and Mason Comer. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 31, 2009, from 6-8 PM at the First Baptist Church of Alabaster. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2009, at 11 AM at the church. Interment will be in Southern Heritage Cemetery in Pelham. Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home directing.
