Donna Harris

God has retrieved from this earth and returned to heaven one of his truly bright stars, Donna Lee Dean Harris. She passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at age 63.

Born on May 1, 1954, Donna grew up in Fultondale, AL and graduated from Rogers Vocational School. She began working for AT&T out of high school, and found her niche, progressing through the years until retiring as a senior technical director after 44 years of service, with retirement due to the cancer that eventually overcame her earthy form. All those that had the privilege of knowing Donna in this life already know how much she cared for each and every one of them. Donna was unique in her ability to connect with every one she met. Her abilities are too numerous to mention. Her caring and love for the welfare of others has no comparison. Her dear puppies on earth will miss her, but she is now reunited with those that have passed before.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sara Edna Rowell Dean and William Oliver Dean, and her sisters, Imogene Dean Hallman and Reba June Dean Stephens.

Donna is survived by her loving husband, Roger W. Harris; her brother, Johnny Dean; her step-children, Roger W. Harris Jr., Sherry Hardy, and Tracy Barrilleaux; her nieces and nephews, Ashley Fulkerson, Courtney Davenport, Brett Dean, Bill Stephens, Bob Stephens, and Larry Stephens.

Many thanks and blessings bestowed on all the doctors, nurses, palliative care team, and staff at Brookwood Hospital. The group on the 7th floor are a special bunch of folks and will always be held in high regard for the care provided to Donna.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 14, 2017, from 11 AM - 1 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover. The Memorial Service will follow in the Chapel at 1 PM. Rev. Bill Stephens, officiating.
