Parker, Donald L, of Hayden Alabama left his earthly body Thursday September 19th, 2024, at the age of 90 to spend eternity with Jesus and his family in heaven. Mr. Parker was preceded by his wife Betty Parker, parents William and Velma Parker, four bothers Alton, Leo, Hubert, and Lynn Parker, and granddaughter Katelyn Hubbard.
Survivors include two daughters Jackie Hollis of Hayden and Joyce (Richard) Hubbard of Gardendale, nine grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
Mr. Parker had a long and fulfilling life. With many hobbies and passions Mr. Parker could spend hours carrying on a conversation. At the age of 14 he started driving trucks. This would continue for most of his life. He loved to drive anything and everything. From buses and tractor trailers to pickup trucks and his vintage cars he drove them all. Other past time activities include camping, fishing, growing gardens, carpentry, and going to car shows.
The family is deeply saddened by his passing but thankful for the many years he had here on earth. It brings them peace knowing that he is walking beside our lord and savior Jesus Christ. Mr. Parker's funeral and services will be held Tuesday September 24th, 2024, at Currie - Jefferson Funeral Home and Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. with service starting shortly after. There will be a graveside service after the visitation and chapel service are completed.
