Dewey Wright

Mr. Dewey Gaston Wright, of Cahaba Heights, passed away Monday, September 9, 2013, at the age of 90. He was a lifetime resident of Cahaba Heights and a member of Cahaba Heights United Methodist Church. Mr. Wright was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He was preceded in death by a son, James Dewey "Jim" Wright. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Hazel Wright; a daughter, Lynne Wright Fortunis; 4 grandchildren, Chris Fortunis (Tiffany), Tiffany Fortunis Wright (Jared), Vicki Hines (Dan), and Steve Wright; 4 great grandchildren, Bennett, Jovie, Emmalyn, and Aubrianna; a brother, Loyd Wright; 2 sisters, Ruth Johnson and Virginia Gilmore (George); and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:30, Thursday, September 12, 2013, at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150 in Hoover. Funeral service will follow at 2:30 in the funeral home chapel, Pastor Randy Keef officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. The family requests donations be made to Cahaba Heights United Methodist Church.
