Debra Heine

Debra Gunther Heine, 64, of Harpersville, AL, passed away on February 18, 2016. She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard Gunther and Janet Gunther Chanley. She is survived by her son, Christopher Heine of New York City, her husband of 41 years, Barry Heine, her sister, Sandy Stevens of Indianapolis, IN, and her brother, Guy Gunther of Evansville, IN.
Debra enjoyed working with children and at one time worked at Asbury United Methodist Church Preschool. She was an avid conservationist, a member of the National Wildlife Federation, Defenders of Wildlife, and the Sierra Club. She loved working in her flower garden and set up several wildlife habitats around her home.
Visitation will be at 1-2 PM on Sunday February 21, 2016 at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, 2701 John Hawkins Pkwy, Hoover, AL 35244. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
