, of Hoover, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at the age of 80 after a long battle with heart disease. Mr. Morrow was born in Topeka, KS on January 18, 1929 to Charles E. and Alberta Anderson Morrow. He graduated from Washburn University in Topeka. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. His career was with the Treasury Department of the Federal Government. He held positions in Omaha, Kansas City, St. Louis, Boston, Austin, and Washington, D.C. He was appointed to the Senior Executive Service and advanced to the position of Assistant Commissioner, Internal Revenue Service. He retired from the government in 1984 after 30 years service. He operated a family owned business, Greenbriar Cleaners, in Fairfax, VA from 1985 through 1996. Mr. Morrow was an active member of Hoover First United Methodist Church. He enjoyed sports all his life and was an avid golfer and fisherman. His hobby was researching genealogy. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim Morrow and Jack Morrow, and his sister, Beverly DuPree. He is survived by his loving wife and soul mate, Marilyn Mahan Morrow; three sons, Gary Morrow (Lisa) of Leawood, KS, Darren Pack (Cari) of Blue Springs, MO and Christopher Morrow (Amy) of Birmingham; a daughter, Patty Wilkerson of Mission Hills, KS; eleven grandchildren, Madison Morrow, Davis Morrow, Jeffrey Pack, Christopher Pack, Andrea Morrow, Stuart Morrow, Madeline Morrow, Joseph Morrow, Dean Morrow, Laura Wilkerson and Grant Wilkerson. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 11, 2009 from 9:30-11:00 AM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Highway 150, Hoover. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Lonna Lynn Higgs officiating. Interment will be in Blue Springs, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hoover First United Methodist Church, 1934 Patton Chapel Rd., Hoover, AL 35226 in memory of Mr. Morrow.
