D.D. Barton

Darden Deats Barton (D.D.) of Hoover, AL went to be with the Lord on December 20, 2019. D.D. was born in Tuscaloosa, AL and lived in Ralph, AL until 1962 when he married Judy Patton of Northport, AL. They were together for fifty-seven years, had three wonderful children, Jeff (Tara) Barton of Mobile, AL, Natalie Barton Joiner and Karla Kay Barton Swatek of Hoover, AL, eight grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.

After serving in the military in Germany from 1962-1965, he was employed with Southern Bell and retired with AT&T in 2005. He was thankful to have been with the company for forty years. D.D. enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren, and watching sports, especially Alabama. He attended Metro Church of God for thirty years, Church of the Highlands Riverchase and participated in volunteer work during that time. He was loved and will be greatly missed.

The family will have a private memorial to celebrate D.D.'s life at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home.
