David Carr, Sr.

David Wayne Carr, Sr., age 60, of Midfield, Al died on January 4, 2022.

Born in Birmingham, Alabama. He was raised, graduated in 1979 and resided just next door to his childhood home in the Fairfield Highlands community of Midfield, AL. He loved, missed and often reflected on childhood memories in Groundhog. He loved fishing, camping, and riding motorcycles. Passions he was happy to be able to share with his family. A workaholic if you will. Always busy, worked long hours on and off the clock to provide for his family. He was also the man behind the camera. In his later years, photography was his biggest passion. He loved capturing moments. In the event someone passed, nobody had to ask, he was right there. With years of pain from spinal cord issues, he was most comfortable at home in his recliner with his two dogs, Bama and Pup Pup.

He is survived by two sons, David Wayne Carr, Jr. (Janell) and Samuel Chester Carr (Cheyeanna); a daughter, Sonja Elaine McClain (Kobie); Grandchildren; Alissa Wallace (William), Jaden Carr, Kara Carr, Christal and Christen Carr, Maliyah Owens and Princeton Wallace;  sisters, Deborah Hull (George) and Stephanie Knowles; sister in law, Cat Knowles. Also surviving is the mother of his children, Alesia McKinsey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chestus Carr and Betty Knowles; two sisters; Terry Carrell and Elaine Owens; and a step brother, Stephen Knowles.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 10, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Currie Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover with Rev. Bobby Simmons officiating.  Burial will follow the service in Jefferson Memorial Gardens South in Hoover. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 9, 2022 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at Currie Jefferson Funeral Home, 2701 John Hawkins Parkway, Hoover, AL  35244.
