Damon Hyde, Jr.

Damon C. "DC" Hyde, Jr., 77, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, October 18, 2019, surrounded by his wife and daughters.  DC was a member of Riverside Baptist Church in Helena, AL.  He retired from Bessemer Utilities after 33 years of service.  DC was a Semi-Pro Fast Pitch Softball catcher for many years.  He loved the outdoors, working on his farm, Alabama Football, and most of all, his family.  He had a unique sense of humor and a gift for making people laugh.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Catherine "Cat" Hyde; his daughters, Natalie and Stacy Hyde; his son, Danny Hyde; his grandchildren, Ben "BJ" Praytor, Lindsey and Tyler Hyde; and a host of family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 10-11, Tuesday, October 22, 2019, at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150 in Hoover.  Funeral will follow at 11 AM in the chapel, Pastor Neal Wright officiating.  Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
