Curtis Leroy Harper, 69, beloved son, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away peacefully in Hoover, AL on January 30, 2022. He was born in Lake Charles, LA to his parents, Luther and Ellen (Layson) Harper. Curtis met his wife of 37 years, Phyllis (Goodwin) Harper in 1984.
Curtis was preceded in death by his sister Beverly Harper and daughters, Amanda Ressler and Dana Bone.
He is survived by his parents, Luther and Ellen Harper; wife, Phyllis Harper; sister, Lenora (Randy) Dean; two sons, Beau (Ashley) Harper and Blake (Kathryn) Harper; two daughters Jennifer (Brian) Bowen and Bridget (Jody) Connell; fourteen grandchildren: Carson, Ava Grace, Savannah, Dillan, Andrew, Troy, DJ, Anthony, William, Katelyn, Lakelyn, Mila Rose, Sutton, Fischer and three great-grandchildren: Rileigh, Oakleigh and Kayslie.
Curtis was a dedicated 45 year employee of ABF Freight and a faithful member of Hunter Street Baptist Church in Hoover since moving back to Alabama in 2006 from Marietta, GA.
A viewing service will be held at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hoover, AL on Feb 1st 5:30-7:30p. Funeral services will be held on Feb 2nd at 11a.
In lieu of flowers & gifts, the family is asking for donations to the UAB Living Donor Kidney Transplant Research Acceleration Fund.
