"Coach" Donald Wayne Hannah, passed away February 2, 2012, at the age of 64. Don was born in Birmingham, AL; graduated from Jones Valley High School and earned his degree from the University of Montevallo. He loved the Lord and served his country in the Vietnam War. Coach, as most referred to him, spent his career coaching high school football and mentoring students in the Birmingham area. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Addie Mae and Edward Hannah, and a brother, Labron Hannah. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Belinda Hannah, a son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Laura Hannah, three beautiful grandchildren, Hayden, Addie, and Emma Hannah, and one brother, James Hannah (Donna), and a host of family who loved him dearly. Coach first and foremost enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved being outdoors, hunting, golfing, and fishing. He was a talented poet as well. The family will receive friends Sunday, February 5, 2012, from 1-2 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be a 2 PM with Pastor Steve Franklin officiating. Interment will follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
