Clifford Nolan Dobyns departed this life for his eternal home on Thursday, September 22, 2016. Clifford was born June 28, 1932, in Ashland, KY, to Boyd and Erma Dobyns. He served in the U.S. Army at Fort Devens, MA, during the Korean War, and then graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1958 with a degree in Engineering. In 1959 he married Judith Barbour on his birthday, and together they proudly raised three children, David (Deidre), Lisa Reuse (Bobby), Paul (Barbara) as well as grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Clifford began his professional career with General Telephone in Kentucky and later worked as a Management Engineer in multiple hospital systems throughout Kentucky and Alabama. After retirement, he was the Director of Transportation for the Mountain Brook School System.
He was a member and deacon of Lakeside Baptist Church and then later at The Church at Brook Hills. His hobbies included fishing, spending time with his family, sharing his faith with others, and more recently, singing with the Hoover Songbirds. He had a passion for telling stories to anyone who would listen, many of which were published in Senior Living.

A private burial for family will be held at the Alabama National Cemetery on Monday, September 26.
A memorial Celebration will be held for friends and family at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, 2701 John Hawkins Parkway, Hoover, on Thursday, September 29, 2016, at 6:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers charitable contributions can be made to Time's Out Incorporated, www.timesout.org, who provided many hours of support and care.
