Clara Strozier

Mrs. Clara Mote Strozier, of Vestavia, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at the age of 94. She graduated from Shades Cahaba School and was one of the pioneers of Shades Mountain. Mrs. Strozier was a member of Shades Mountain Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for approximately 40 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel W. Strozier.
She is survived by 2 sons, S. Woody Strozier (Nancy) and John Strozier (Patsy); a daughter, Elaine Sharman (Mike); 2 brothers, Walter and William Mote; 2 sisters, Mary Herren and Betty Bowen (Al); 8 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and a special friend, Mavis Gates.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 from 1 - 2 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 2 PM in the funeral home chapel with interment in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to your local charity.
