Mr. Christopher Lawrence, age 37, of Hoover, AL, passed away September 17, 2011. Chris was born on July 22, 1974. He attended Jacksonville State College where he studied in the field of Broadcasting and Communications. After Chris got his first real break in the radio broadcasting business, he became well known and well-liked by all who knew him. He assisted others in helping them get their first break in radio broadcasting. This was Christopher Lawrence. At the time of his death, Chris was producer of the Richard Dixon show on WAPI Radio, a job that he truly loved. He is preceded in death by his mother, Deborah Vance, and grandfather, David Owens. Chris is survived by his loving and devoted grandmother, Vera Owens, his beloved dog, Belushi, several cousins and many friends he considered family. Funeral services will be held at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home on John Hawkins Parkway in Hoover Friday, September 23, 2011, at 11 AM with visitation one hour prior to the service. Dr. Earl Tew officiating. Christopher Lawrence will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him, but heaven is a better place with him.
