Christopher Grant Burks was born on October 25, 1992 in Birmingham, Alabama. Chris left us to be at peace with the Father following a courageous battle with cancer on May 20, 2022.
Chris was a kind and loving person who touched many lives and was a true friend to those around him. The family would like to thank everyone who provided love, care and support for him during his illness.
Chris attended John Carroll Catholic High School where he was on the golf team and choir. He later graduated from the University of Alabama and became a software developer. He was a high school soccer referee and loved golf, fishing, woodworking and anything outdoors. Chris was an excellent musician who played instruments including the guitar, ukulele and drums.
Chris is survived by his sister, Katherine Teichmiller; father Scott Burks; mother Sharon Burks; cousin Matthew White; nieces Charlotte and Alice Teichmiller; uncle Billy Lee; aunt Cheryl White;
grandparents Renee Lee, Milton Burks and Martha Burks; and many other family members and friends who will dearly miss him for the rest of their lives.
Chris's life will be celebrated with a visitation on Tuesday, May 24 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m., followed by a graveside service, at Currie Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Hoover. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation to the charity of your choice or share the gift of kindness with someone you love.
