Mr. Chris Mazur, of Hoover, AL, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2015, at the age of 87. He was a US Army Veteran and served in the Korean War. He was an avid woodworker and was a member of the Woodworkers Guild. He was also a member of the Quiet Birdmen. He was a former flight instructor. He loved his dog, Fletch, and they were inseparable. He was known for his dry sense of humor and loved telling jokes. Everyone who met him loved him. He was also a great cook.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Donna Mazur, two sons, David Mazur and Shaun Mazur (Amy), two daughters, Paula Schmitt (Ronnie) and Diane Mazur (Sue), grandchild, April Schmitt, great grandchild, K.K., a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends Thursday, July 9, 2015, from 12-2 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2 PM in the chapel. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
