age 46, of Hoover, passed away on November 11, 2006. He was a member of Holy Trinity-Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church. He was employed by the City of Hoover Police Department since 1985. In 1988, Chris was promoted to detective. He served in the U.S. Army, where he was a member of the Military Police Corps. He was a member of the Alabama Peace Officers Association. Funeral Services will be held at Holy Trinity-Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church on Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at 11 A.M. with burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens South. Father Paul Costoupoulos and Father Christopher Harner officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2006 from 5:30 until 7:30p.m. at the church with a Trisagon service at 7 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents; Dino and Maria Chaparas.He is survived by his two daughters; Kathleen and Kayce Chaparas of Hoover, a brother Tom (Janice) Chaparas, niece; Bianca Chaparas all of California and the entire City of Hoover Police Department.
