Charlotte Adams

Charlotte Adams, of Hoover, passed away Wednesday, November 19, at the age of 76. She was a retired Jefferson County school teacher. Mrs. Adams was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, former member of Shades Mountain Baptist and South Highland Presbyterian Churches. 1955 High School graduate, PS DuPont, Wilmington, Del. She attended the University of Florida and graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a BA and MA in Education. She is a former member of the Birmingham Canoe Club, Docent Birmingham Museum of Art, and Birmingham Zoo Volunteer. Mrs. Adams also was an artist and musician.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dale R. Adams; and grandson, Bradley Allen Johnson. Also survived by daughter, Shari C. Johnson (Hugh); grandson, Michael Connor Johnson; sister, Marcia Kearly (Frank); sister-in-law, Vicky McCarthy (Michael); 2 nieces, Katie King (Collin) and Nancy Rappaport; 2 nephews, Brian McCarthy (Amy) and Philip Shane.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM, Sunday, November 23, 2014, at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover. Funeral service will follow at 2 PM in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Bradley Johnson Memorial Foundation, 2313 Maury Place, Birmingham, AL 35242.
