Charles Spivey

Mr. Charles Darrel Spivey, age 51, of Vestavia Hills, AL, passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2010. He was a graduate of Vestavia High School and attended both Jacksonville State University and UAB. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack B. Spivey and his step-father, Thomas J. Newman. He is survived by his mother, Gwendoline Spivey Newman, sister, Jackie Johnson, brother, Erwin (Patty) Spivey, step-brothers, Tom (Debbie) Newman and Cade (Melissa) Newman. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 from 2 until 3 pm at the Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home with the service to follow at 3 pm in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Bob Posey and Rev. Jerry Harris will be officiating. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2010, at 11 am at the Neshoba Baptist Church Cemetery in Union MS. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Alzheimer's of Central Alabama, the American Cancer Society or the Shades Mountain Baptist Church Make Jesus Known fund.
