Charles Smith, Sr

Mr. Charles Edward Smith, age 78, of Birmingham, AL, passed away March 5, 2012. Charlie was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He attended Tuscaloosa High School and then enlisted in the Marine Corp where he served in the Korean War. He was a member of Rocky Ridge Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was retired as co-owner of C & C Manufacturing. Everyone who knew him will remember his sense of humor. He is preceded in death by four brothers and one sister. He is survived by his wife, of 56 years, Charlsie Smith, two sons, Eddie (Jan) and David (Susan) Smith, and his two granddaughters, Lindsey Wilbanks, and Kimberly Smith. The family will receive friends, Wednesday, March 7, 2012, from 10-11 AM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home. Service will be 11 AM with interment in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Rocky Ridge Cumberland Presbyterian Church Building Fund.
