Charles Rhodes

Mr. Charles Rhodes, age 85, of Bessemer, AL, passed away Monday, July 18, 2011. He was a member of Riverchase United Methodist Church. He was retired from US Steel and was the owner of Rhodes Co. Home Builders, and Broker and Owner of C & L Rhodes Realty. He served in WWII in the Army Air Corps. He is survived by his wife, of 64 years, Lorene Rhodes, two sons; Charles Daniel Rhodes (Evelyn) and Charles David Rhodes, a daughter, Marilyn Busby (Richard), a brother, Herman Rhodes, a sister, Nancy Collins, four grandchildren; Charles Richard Busby (Shana), Kimberly Elizabeth Busby (Jonathan), Daniel Perry Rhodes, and Natalie Danielle Rhodes, three great grandchildren; Avery Raye Busby, Kate Elizabeth Busby, and Palin Elizabeth Dye, several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 21, 2011, from 9:30-11AM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel with funeral services following at 11 AM with Ken Letson officiating. Interment will be in Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
