Charles Niles

Mr. Charles E. Niles, of Cahaba Heights, AL, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2013, at the age of 83. He was a veteran of the Korean War, and retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad after 40 years of service. He was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church and a member of Cahaba Heights Masonic Lodge #887. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest E. and Grace Smith Niles, and a son, David E. Niles. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Martha Anne Niles, three sons; Tommy Niles (Linda), Gregory Niles (Catherine) and Casey Niles, six grandchildren; Brandi (Paul), Charles-David, Jeffrey (Suzanne), Jennifer, David Johnson, Heather (Jeff), three great grandchildren; Christina, Tucker and Nash, and numerous extended family. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 24, 2013, from 6-8 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at 1 PM at the funeral home with Bro. Alan Murphy officiating. Interment will follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the American Cancer Society or your favorite charity.
