Charles E. “Charkey” Jordan, 76, of Hoover, Alabama passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2014. Born in Bessemer, Alabama on September 2, 1938 to Reverend Johnny and Myrtle Jordan. Charkey served his friends and long-time customers for a combined forty years as the manager of Long Lewis Ford and Jim Skinner Ford. He was a faithful member of Hunter Street Baptist Church and loved his church family and his Pastor, Buddy Gray.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Martha Sue Cox and his daughter Penny Renea Jordan. He is survived by his daughters Jennifer Paige (Todd) Lankford and Pamela Denise (Sammy) Sciara. He had four grandchildren, Jana Brook (Mark) Kirskey, Jordan Ellis Brook, Charles Austin Sciara and Vincent Michael Sciara and one great-grandchild, Parker William Kirksey. He is also survived by Charles R. (Jimmie Lou) Dixon, Curtis W. (Ann) Cox, Jean Waters, Sissy Jordan and a host of nieces and nephews. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Johnny E. Jordan, sister, Jean Jordan Gwin and his brother-in-law, Bill Waters.

The family will receive friends at Currie-Jefferson Funeral home located on John Hawkins Parkway; Hoover, AL from 9 to 10am on Saturday, December 27th. Funeral service will be immediately following with burial at Highland Memorial in Bessemer, Alabama.
