Charles Carr

November 13, 1941 — September 25, 2006

age 64 of Hoover, formerly of Ft. Payne, Alabama passed away on Monday, September 25, 2006. He graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and became a successful agriculture commodity jobber with AGRI Products formed by him and his business partner, Bill Barnes. Charles was an avid nature lover who cherished local hikes as well as national parks, especially Glacier National Park in Montana. He was an active member of Shades Crest Baptist Church, contributing his time and resources to advance and maintain the facilities and its programs. Above all, he loved being a husband, a father, and spending time with his friends at church. He leaves a legacy of incredible love and concern for the well being of others-a humble, gentle man who gave more than he took from this world. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of forty-three years, Linda Dee Lankford Carr; daughters, Lisa Carr Smith and Daphne Carr; and granddaughter, Charlsey Smith. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 27, from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Shades Crest Baptist Church with funeral services immediately following at 11:00 a.m. The funeral procession will depart the church at 1:00 p.m., in route to Glenwood Cemetery in Ft. Payne, Alabama for a graveside service with Dr. Dennis Foust officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shades Crest Baptist Church Building Fund at 452 Park Avenue, Hoover, AL 35226. Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home directing.
