Charles W. Campbell, Jr., a lifelong resident of Alabama, passed away July 17, 2015. He was born July 21, 1926. Charles grew up in Ensley, Alabama and graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Prior to graduating, he served in the U.S. Navy. He began his professional career with and retired from Vulcan Materials. As long as his health allowed, he faithfully attended Philadelphia Baptist Church in Cahaba Heights.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Jennie Campbell; his brother, Harry Campbell; and a special aunt, Lutie Albert.
Charles is survived by his wife of 65 years, Paula Mann Campbell; 4 daughters, Kathi Goodwin (Larry), Charlene Campbell, Paula Pegues (James), and Tracy Williams (Dennis). He also leaves behind 6 grandchildren, Jennifer Pegues Middleton (Joe), Kym Goodwin Stokes (Justin), Katie Pegues Garrison (Joseph), Michelle Goodwin, Daniel Williams, and Melanie Williams; 1 great grandchild, Charlotte Middleton; and his sister, Doris Shaw. He will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Graveside services will be 11 AM, Monday, July 20, 2015, at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South in Hoover. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service.
