Catherine Cooksey

of Birmingham, passed away Monday, September 8, 2008, at the age of 71. Although born in Morgan County, Catherine spent most of her life in Birmingham. She was a long time member of Lakeside Baptist Church. Mrs. Cooksey put her skills as an expert beauty consultant to work with ownership of a Merle Norman franchise in Homewood. She was a loving wife, mother, and friend; and she loved to travel. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Grady Cooksey; a son, G. David Cooksey; three brothers, Guy Smith (Judy), Afton and Herbert Smith; and a sister, Wilma Daniels. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Tuesday, September 9, 2008, at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150, Hoover. Graveside service will be at 1 PM Wednesday, September 10, 2008, in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. Dr. Earl Tew officiating
