Carolyn Coggin

Carolyn J. Coggin of Helena, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2022 at the age of 80.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ollie, Father (Hillard), and Mother (Lynda).  Survivors include, sons, Lee (Cindy) Coggin of Muskegon, MI, Dow (Megan) Coggin of Birmingham, and Chris (Mary Ann) Coggin of Birmingham, grandchildren, Erin (Shawn) Richardson, Rebekah (Collin) McBride, David (Hannah) Coggin, Wynn (Ellie) Coggin, Daniel Coggin, Alex Coggin, Nicholas Coggin, and Julia Coggin, great grandchildren, Scout, Ira, and Elinor, and sister, Elsie (Kip) Cowart of Helena.

Mrs. Coggin was born November 7, 1941 in Helena, Alabama, and graduated from Thompson High School.  She was a member of Briarwood Presbyterian Church where she led the Grace Ladies ministry, and retired from CB&A Project Management Services.  She helped found and develop the youth soccer program at Vestavia Hills.  A loving and dedicated wife, mom, sister, daughter, and friend, she especially loved her grandchildren and the time she got to share with them.

Visitation will be held at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover on Friday, April 22, 2022 from 1:00 – 2:00 pm with a chapel service led by Dr. Mark Cushman beginning at 2:00 pm.  Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
