Carole Sargent

On Tuesday morning, October 8, Carole Enos Sargent, loving mother and friend, passed away at age 58.

Carole was born on December 28, 1960 in Framingham, MA. Her summers were spent camping throughout New England with her four siblings and parents. She attended Cedar Shoals High School in Athens, GA, where she was voted Friendliest in her senior class, and then attended the University of Georgia. At UGA, Carole performed as a flag girl and worked at some of Athens’ most memorable establishments, O’Malley’s and Bennigan's, where she made lifelong friends.

Carole was passionate about running, horseback riding, and the outdoors. She loved to read and could be found rooting for the UGA Bulldogs in the fall. Her favorite place to spend time was in the Smokey Mountains, hiking and riding horses. Her greatest joy was raising her two children. Famous around the neighborhood for her chocolate chip cookies, Carole was usually found hosting a gathering, attending her kids’ sporting events, or taking a jog. She was a fierce friend, an avid listener, and a passionate mom. She cared deeply for her family and friends and for animals. To Carole, there was always room for one more person or pet, and time to hear one more story.

Carole was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Enos. Carole is survived by her two children, Ryan and his wife Amelie, and Amanda, her father Hank Enos, and her four siblings, Susan, Mitch, Beth, and Rebecca.

A Memorial Service will be held at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover, AL on Sunday, October 13, 2019 at 2:00 pm. Following the service, there will be an informal gathering of family and friends at Oak Mountain State Park Dogwood Pavilion at 200 Terrace Drive, Pelham, AL 35124 to celebrate the life of Carole in a place she loved. Please bring a side dish or dessert to share at the park.
