Carol Ann Fountain McWhorter

January 11, 1940 - May 5, 2024

 Carol was born on January 11, 1940 in Lawley, Alabama. She was the second child born to Helen and Lem Fountain. Carol had two brothers, Billy and Ed Fountain.

 Carol graduated from Bessemer High School with the class of 1958. She then married Jimmy Kitchens, Sr. from Bessemer Alabama and he is the father of her two children, Terri and Jimmy, Jr.

 After her divorce from Jimmy, Sr., she was married to Ben McWhorter until his death in 2001.

 Carol enjoyed bowling, tennis, crafts and spending time with her children, grandchildren and later in life great grandchildren. Thanksgiving and Christmas were her favorite times of the year, having all of her family together to cook and decorate. She was better known as Gran and loved her family and the time spent with them. She will be missed by all that knew her.

 Carol leaves to cherish her memory a loving daughter, Terri Kitchens Martin (Randall) and son, Jimmy Kitchens (Kay), grandchildren, Brion Casey, Jennifer Burks (Kaleb), Nikki Kitchens, Randall Martin, Jr. (Leanna). Great grandchildren, Peyton, Brody and Audrey Burks, Savannah, David and John Martin, Gauge Roberts and recently deceased, Jesika Kitchens.
