Carleine Mackey

age 82, passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2007. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Marvin Mackey; a son, Melvin Ray Mackey, a brother, John Franklin Reaves; and four sisters, Annie Nell Splawn, Miriam Poole, Eleanor Levy, and Nyneita Mikell. She is survived by a son, James Gary (Joyce) Mackey; two sisters, Nadelia Mitchell and Edna Marylynn Fleming; she leaves behind seven grandchildren, Christopher Wayne (Leslie) Mackey; James Eric Mackey, Devin O'Neal Mackey, Kristine Lynn Mackey, Megan Nicole Mackey, Grace Elizabeth Mackey, and Stephanie Lynn Watson; and two great-grandsons, Christopher Paul Mackey and Gabriel Shane Mackey, who will miss her greatly. Carleine loved unconditionally and completely, with such a kind and gentle spirit. She served the Lord by taking care of others. She found great happiness spending precious time with her friends and family. Carleine will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 16, 2007, from 5-7 PM at Hunter Street Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2007, at 11:30 AM at the church, with Dr. Buddy Gray and Rev. Chris Sullivan officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
