Mr. Carle Clifton Chiles, of Farmerville, LA, passed away on December 15, 2011, at Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham, AL. Carle was born in Shreveport, LA to the late Caddo and Lois Chiles and had 1 sister, the late Ethel May Barnes Chiles. Carle served time in the US Navy from 1948-1954. After starting his employment with South Central Bell Telephone Company in Shreveport, LA, he met his bride to be and life companion, the former, Lucy Carol Williams, who was a telephone operator with Bell Telephone. They were married on December 31, 1954, and had four children together. He retired from BellSouth in 1992 after 42 years of service. Carle and Carol moved from West Monroe, LA to Farmerville where they had found their dream home on Lake Darbonne. There they met many friends and many memories were made there fishing and boating and just spending time together and having family get-togethers. Carle loved time spent with his kids and grandkids and many fond memories were made there. He was a true family man, LSU supporter and could always be available for his opinion on any problem that might arise. Carle is survived by his wife, Carol Chiles, of Birmingham, AL, two sons and two daughters, Cliff and Beth of Shreveport, LA, Carla Earl and Rick of Spartanburg, SC, Chet and Tracy of Cleveland, TN, and Crystal Wiggins and Jeff of Hoover, AL, ten grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends December 18, 2011, from 1-2 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home with funeral services at 2 PM. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. Pallbearers will be grandson; Loren Chiles, Landry Chiles, Toby Earl, Todd Earl, and son-in-laws; Jeff Wiggins and Rick Earl. He will be missed tremendously by all. We Love you, Dad! In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society.
