C. Allen, Jr

of Hoover, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at the age of 61 after a 2 1/2 year battle with pancreatic cancer. He was founder and co-owner of ABC Cutting Contractors, a member of CrossBridge Church and a Scout Leader for Troop 367 at Riverchase United Methodist Church. He was part of the first State Championship Cross Country team at Berry High School. Born in Kentucky, he graduated from the University of the South in Sewanee, TN and then received his MBA from the University of Alabama. He followed in his father's footsteps by working at R.R. Dawson Bridge Company. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, C. Paul Allen, Sr. and Mary Lou Allen. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Donna Allen; 2 sons, Loren Paul Allen (Virginia) and Kaden Trace Allen; a daughter, Jessica Lorell Allen Klinger (Barry); a grandson, Paul Curtis Allen; 2 sisters, Paula Allen Cohn and Ann Allen; and a brother, Wayne Earl Allen (Tori). The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy. 150, Hoover. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at 1 p.m. at CrossBridge Church on Brook Highland Pky. with Garry Brantley officiating. Entombment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
