Byron Holmgren

Byron Russel Holmgren, 82, of Hoover, AL passed away on October 30, 2015. He was born in Willmar, MN to Alfred and Cloera (Scott) Holmgren. He was an educator for 35 years and a part-time pastor in the North Georgia Conference UMC. He was preceded in death by both parents, twin brother Myron, sisters Norma Arndt, Gloria Schultz, Helen Wood, son Roger Lyle, and wife of 60 years Una Mae Holmgren.
Surviving are their Children: sons Gregory and Bradley (Amy)Holmgren, and daughters Jonette (Jeffrey) Crain and Randi (Ronald) Kubina. Their Grandchildren: Shaun Holmgren, James Kenneth (Jennifer) Golden, Julie and Jennifer Golden, Kevin (Sydney) Holmgren and Madison Bailey. Siblings: Lucille Nikle of Grand Forks, ND and Kenneth (Carol) of Sierra Vista, CA. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, November 8, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Rocky Ridge Baptist Church with Dr. Lowell Vann officiating.
Byron’s cremated remains will be buried at Bethel Cemetery in Claire City, SD.
