Mrs. Bonnie Sue Maske, 84, of Hoover, AL, passed away on January 1, 2022, after a short illness. A private graveside service for immediate family will take place on Friday, January 7 at Jefferson-Currie Memorial Gardens in Hoover, AL.
Bonnie was born on November 6, 1937, to the late Lester and Louise Godfrey. She attended Dora High School, and earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from The University of Alabama in Birmingham. She was a talented and dedicated elementary school educator for twenty-five years. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Bonnie was a member of Metropolitan Church of God in Vestavia where she volunteered with Love in Action Ministries, a community food and clothes bank. She will truly be missed by many.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers – Neal and Harlan Godfrey, and her son DeWayne Maske. She is survived by her husband of 65 years Teddy Maske, Jr.; son Durant Maske (wife Christi); daughter-in-law Suzy Maske Herron; grandchildren, Deena Blackstone, Cody Maske, Colby Maske and Isabella Maske; sisters, Cleo Attaway and Patricia Ballenger (Charles), along with several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
