Bobbie Allen

Bobbie Parrish Allen, age 88, of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at home. Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 22,at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home at 11:00 AM with Dr. Mark Cushman and Randal Ray officiating. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the chapel.
"Nonnie" is survived by her daughters, Barbara Broadway (Ben), and Catherine Bell (William); and her grandchildren and great grandchildren: Ginny Gambacurta (Drew), Kate Gambacurta, Suzy Bell, Clint Bell (RuthAnn), Drennan Bell and Allyson Flowers, who were the joy of her life. She is also survived by her brother, C. Webber Parrish, as well as, nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Bobbie was born in Nashville, Tennessee, but spent the majority of her childhood in St. Augustine, Florida. After attending Peabody College and Ward Belmont in Nashville, she was employed by Southern Bell Telephone Company where she met and married, William Kirkland Allen, of South Fulton, Tennessee. They lived in Murfreesboro, Memphis, Atlanta, and Birmingham.
Bobbie's greatest legacy was the loving Christian example she set as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
