It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert “Bob” Beaver. He was born April 13, 1961 in Oxford, Mississippi and died Friday May 14th due to complications from COVID-19. He grew up in Oxford and Water Valley, Mississippi. Bob married the love of his life, Sandra McAlexander, in 1981. They had three children: Wesley Ross (Melinda), William Sidney, and Kimberly Suzanne, all of Hoover, Alabama.
Bob was a Master Mason and a member of Hoover Masonic lodge #644. He was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was the Grand Sentinel for the state of Alabama for the 2020-2021 year. Bob greatly enjoyed being a member of both fraternities and making friends from all across the state. He was also President of the West Jefferson County Historical Society. Bob was very compassionate and actively involved in community service.
Bob was predeceased by his parents Roland Beaver and Anna Watson, his brother, James “Jimmy” Beaver, his two sisters Dorothy “Dottie” Tidwell and Jerrel Dean “Jerry” Thacker, and his father-in-law Sidney McAlexander. He is survived by his wife and children, several brother and sister-in- laws, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews whom he was very close to. He is also survived by his mother- in- law, Sue McAlexander, whom he loved dearly. Special mention goes to his constant companion Lady Bug, who was always a great comfort to him. He loved children and animals, which was a testament to his caring and loving nature.
A memorial service will be held for Bob on Saturday May 22nd at the Hoover Masonic Lodge #644 located at 3445 Sierra Drive, Hoover Alabama at 4 p.m.
