Billy Stell

Mr. Billy L. Stell, of Calera, passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2014, at the age of 77. He was a former employee of ESP. Billy was a charter member and deacon of Vestavia Primitive Baptist Church. He was a caring and devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family and his church. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ellie Stell; a son, Scott Stell (Joan); a daughter, Beth McCrea (Nelson); 3 grandchildren, Kris Kemp, Amanda Chance (Josh), and Boomer Stell; 2 great grandchildren, Braelynn Stell and Violet Chance; a sister, Bonnie Pounders; and a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 30, 2014, from 1 to 2 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 2 PM in the funeral home chapel with Elder Sam Bryant officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Building Fund at Vestavia Primitive Baptist Church.
