of Hoover, AL, formerly of Montevallo, AL, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2015, at the age of 84. He was retired as a Commercial Insulator after 40 years of service. He started the Apprentice Program for the Asbestos Workers Local Union # 78. He was an avid sports fan, especially Alabama football. Also, he enjoyed riding his bicycle around the neighborhood and working in his yard.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Clarice Chism Boothe, three daughters: Kathy Short (Steve Opremcak), Allison O'Melia (Gregory) and Kelly Jackson (Bruce), five grandchildren: Claire and Sophie O'Melia, Phoebe Short, and Erik and Heidi Jackson, and a nephew, Mike Kendrick (Diane).
The family will receive friends Monday, June 15, 2015, from 1-2 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2 PM in the chapel. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity of your choice.
