Billy Beard

BEARD, BILLY E., age 76, of Helena, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2009 at his residence. He served in the US Army for 20 years retiring as Sergeant First Class. Mr. Beard retired from Western Supermarkets after 13 years of service and also owned and operated Billy’s Deer Processing in Calera for 23 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Tommy Beard. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Charlotte Beard; two daughters, Deborah Fowler (Larry) of Snellville, GA, Kitty Davenport (Gary) of Houma, LA; a son Robert Beard (R.B.) of Helena, AL; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gloria Pitts, Sylvia Pate; a brother, Harvey Pate and a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 from 6-8 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Highway 150, Hoover. Funeral service will be Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at 11 AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
