Betty H. Batts

Betty H. Batts, of Hoover, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, November 1, 2018, at the age of 85. She attended Wheaton College and was a graduate of SMU. Betty was a school teacher, Bible teacher, counselor, and author. She served as pastor’s wife with her late husband, Jerry M Batts, for over 60 years.

She is survived by 2 sons, J. Mark Batts (Maria) and Larry Batts (Angie); 5 grandchildren, Beth Ann Lathbury (Jonah), Ashley Batts, Joshua Batts (Rachael), David Batts (Lindsay), and Alison Smolin (Ben); and 13 great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Max and Lexi Lathbury, Donovan Hatcher and Dylan Johnson, Brady, Davis, and Carter Batts, Will and Harvey Batts, and Sage, Jude, and Luna Smolin.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 – 1:00 Monday, November 5, 2018, at Shades Mountain Community Church. Service will follow at 1:30, Dr. Rick Goertzen officiating. Entombment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
