Betty James

age 79, died Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at Capital Regional Medical Center in Tallahassee, FL. The oldest of nine children, she was born in Hattisburg, MS on July 26, 1927. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert H. James, and a brother, James P. Stephens. She was a member of Shades Mountain Baptist Church for 38 years and had lived in Tallahassee after her husband died. She was primarily a home-maker, but worked off and on over the years. She was a strong Christian and we know where she is. She is survived by two children, Barry F. Rose and his wife Linda of Tallahassee, FL and Bryn James and his wife Elen of Honolulu, HI, five grandchildren, Kimberly R. Van Etten, Tallahassee, FL (husband Eddie), David J. Rose, Tallahassee, FL, Lelanie Bumatay, Hunter Kekoa James & Taylor Brennan James, all of Honolulu, HI;and four great-grandchildren, Eddie Van Etten, R.J. Van Etten & Summer Van Etten of Tallahassee, FL and Ivey Rose of Elizabeth City, NC. Funeral services will be at at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 21, 2006, at Currie Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy. 150, Hoover. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. There will also be a memorial service in Tallahassee, FL at Thomasville Road Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006.
