Mrs. Betty Claire Collins James, passed away on September 13, 2011. She was a native of Birmingham and also lived in Atlanta, and Milwaukee when her husband, the late Ray W. James was transferred there. She graduated from Ensley High School in 1943 and the University of Alabama in 1947 as a Personnel major. She worked for Jefferson-Pilot and Moore Handley. She was a member of the Aldersgate Class at St. Mark Methodist Church. She will be greatly missed, though we know she is in God's embrace, by her daughter, Jill Mathis, son-in-law, Jeff Mathis, of Vestavia, and her granddaughter, Julie Ann Mathis and many cousins and friends. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 17, 2011, from 10-11 AM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be at 11 AM with Reverend Steve West officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
