Betty Bush

born February 25, 1929 in Woodville, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2011, surrounded by her loving husband and children. Betty was a true servant with a love for babies, working in the nursery at Trussville Methodist Church for 25 years. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Myrtle and Fleming Elkins, brothers, Aubrey and Ernie Elkins, sisters, Zera Hornbuckle, Roberta Pearcy and Hilda Teele. She is survived by her husband, Austin; brother, Nathan Elkins; son, Dale Bush (Brenda); daughters, Lisa Motlow (Dudley) and Karen Bush; and grandchildren, Lindsey and Austin. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM, Thursday, December 22, 2011, at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home on Hwy 150 in Hoover. Funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 2 PM. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to Riverchase Methodist Church or Alzheimer's Association.
