of Vestavia Hills, Alabama, passed away on July l2, 2008 at the age of 87 years. She was born in Glenwood, Arkansas on May 18, 1921. She moved with her family to California in 1933. She married Frank Orla Hinckley on March 10, 1943. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Deborah Hinckley of Alabaster, Alabama, and by her daughter Patricia Hinckley who resides in Connecticuit. Mrs. Hinckley had a long and distinguished career in Nursing. She entered the Nursing program at the Sacramento County Hospital in 1942, and graduated in 1944. She served in the Army Nurse Corps. She was Supervising Nurse at Veteran's Administration hospital in Houston, Texas. She was Director of Nursing Services at Orange Memorial Hospital in Orlando, Florida. She was prominant in the field of Renal Dialysis nursing care. She worked for the department of Health, Education and Welfare monitoring contracts for Dialysis units. She later worked for Drake-Willock, Inc, a manufacture of Dialysis equipment, managing their European, Soviet Union and Middle East operations. She founded the American Nephrology Nurse's Association. She was Director of Nursing at St. Martin's in the Pines. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 16.in the chapel at the Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy. 150, Hoover, with Jim Profetto officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the National Parkinson Foundation.
