Bernard Antonio

June 21, 1930 — November 10, 2005


age 75, of McCalla, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2005, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was a U.S. Navy veteran who served during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Antonio retired with 20 years of service from both U.S. Pipe and Lloyd Noland Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Barbara C. Antonio; his 3 children, Richard Antonio of McCalla, Debra (Mike) McCulley of Hueytown, and Bernie (Katie) Antonio of Hoover; two grandchildren, Justin and Kristin McCulley of Hueytown; brothers, Joe Antonio of Panama City, FL, and Frank Antonio of Birmingham; and a sister, Frances Kennedy of Birmingham. Bernard was a very caring and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who touched many lives. He never met a stranger and his sense of humor and outgoing personality will truly be missed by all who knew him. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 13, 2005, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy. 150, Hoover, followed by a Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be on Monday, November 14, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Father Ray Keiser officiating. Interment will follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center on Acton Rd and the staff of Odyssey Hospice.
