Benjamin Bradley

January 10, 1931 — October 23, 2015


Benjamin C. Bradley, Sr., of Hoover, went to be with the Lord, Friday, October 23, 2015, at the age of 84. He was a long time resident of Pleasant Grove. Mr. Bradley graduated from Fairfield High School, the University of Alabama with a degree in Electrical Engineering, and Georgia Tech with a Masters in Electrical Engineering, later earning the status of Professional Engineer. Prior to his tenure with U.S. Steel, Mr. Bradley served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was a division superintendent of electrical and utilities division for U.S. Steel. Following an early retirement Mr. Bradley became an instructor of electronics at Bessemer Tech. Mr. Bradley was loved by all with whom he came in contact, never met a stranger, and had no enemies. The family was blessed to have had the very best husband, "Daddy," and "Papa."

He is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew L. Bradley, Sr. and Corene Elizabeth Bradley; his brothers, Andrew "Jutter" L. Bradley, Jr., John "Jack" McIntyre Bradley, Sr.; and his daughter-in-law, Nicole Bradley. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Vena Fay Bradley; his son, Benjamin C. "Benny" Bradley, Jr. (Tracy); his daughter, Stephanie Bradley Ozgun (Erin); 4 grandchildren, Bradley Ozgun, Caroline Ozgun, Harrison Ozgun, and Benjamin C. "Ben" Bradley III; 2 sisters, Doris Furlong and Annabelle Bradley; and his precious puppy, Precious.

The family will receive friends from 12-2 PM, Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150 in Hoover. Funeral service will follow at 2 PM in the chapel, Dr. Buddy Gray officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
