Barry Lamont Brown passed away peacefully in his home in Hoover, AL on July 17, 2024, surrounded by his family and close friends. He was born on August 16, 1963, in Birmingham, AL. He was preceded in death by his mother, Janice Drummonds Wynn and stepfather, Clarence Edward "Eddie" Wynn, Jr.
Barry graduated from Huffman High School in 1981. He went on to graduate from Jefferson State Community College in 1985, University of Alabama Birmingham in Radiation Therapy in 1987, and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Allied Health from the University of Alabama Birmingham in 1994.
Barry's career consisted of 20 years of service with UAB Radiation Oncology as a Radiation Therapist Manager. He then worked for Jefferson County Department of Health as an Environmental Health Specialist in Air Pollution and Radiation Safety until he retired in May of 2024.
Barry's greatest accomplishments were his immense love for Jesus and his total love and devotion to his family. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather (Papa Bear), brother, and uncle. Barry is survived by his wife, Rosemary Phillips Brown; daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Brown; son in-law, Andrew Lassetter Brown; grandsons, Finn Lassetter Brown and Skyler Phillips Brown; sister, Bridgette Campbell (Rowdy); sister, Stephani Riley; stepsister, Melissa Goode; stepbrother, Dennis Wynn (Cindy); his many precious and loved nieces and nephews and their families.
Celebration of Life Services for Barry will take place on Saturday, July 27th, 2024, at 3:00 pm at Church of the Highlands, The Chapel at Grants Mill, 4700 Highlands Way, Irondale AL 35210.
