Barry Brillhart, 73, of Hoover, AL passed away on Friday, September 23, 2016. He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Brillhart. As the eldest child of Leonard and Frieda (Rader) Brillhart, Barry was born in Roanoke, Virginia in 1943. His family moved to St. Petersburg, Florida in 1958, the place Barry considered to be “home”. A 1961 graduate of St. Petersburg High School, Barry went on to receive his BA in Accounting from the University of South Florida in 1965. Prior to beginning what would turn out to be a distinguished 50 year tenure with AT&T, in March of 1966 Barry entered the Georgia Air National Guard and proudly served, receiving numerous letters of commendation for recognition of exceptional service. As he continued as an active reservist, Barry began his career with AT&T in Atlanta, Georgia. In 1973, Barry moved to the Birmingham area and within a couple of years, married his former high school sweetheart, Rose Elizabeth Evans (Libby). Together, they recently celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary.

Barry is survived by his wife, Libby; stepdaughter Kara, husband Jeff and their children Coleman, Claire and Mackenzie; stepson Ken, wife Stephanie and their children Collin, Katie and Kess; mother, Frieda Brillhart; siblings, Kathy (Brillhart) Gutch and Richard Brillhart. Barry was extremely proud of his grandchildren and very interested in their activities and accomplishments. His final resting place will honor his wish to be buried at Lexington Cemetery in Lexington, Kentucky. The family will contact extended family and friends as soon as local visitation arrangements are finalized.
